Please welcome first-time contributor Paula, a woman who has been successfully living with Bipolar II for three decades. Paula finds comfort and support in her faith, CBT, friends and her kitties. Spending time outside in beautiful Wisconsin, while practicing Mindfulness, has been essential in her recovery. She thrives in Wisconsin.
About this photo: “This photo is evocative. Capturing the grandeur of our Lord’s creations brings me great joy. Intense waves this day on Lake Michigan capture the feeling I have when I experience a manic episode. The power shown in the magnitude of the waves is evidence of His strength and might. I am reminded that our Lord is in control. No need for me to worry.
I simply can be mindful:
Listen to the waves pounding the sand.
Watch the gorgeous colors of water.
Smell the waterfront.
Feel spray and sand.
Taste water in the air.
This is a blessing .”

I love Wisconsin! I am so glad you have a relationship with Jesus. I am sure that is why you have been successfully living with your condition for 3 decades. My faith in God does help me deal with being autistic. is that Lake Michigan?

I feel the same way when I go to the beach! I too suffer from anxiety and there’s just something about hearing the sound of the waves, the way the wind hits your face that is so soothing and it does feel like everything will be ok and you captured that beautifully in this blog post! 😀 Thanks!!
