The End of the World

Photo taken by Thirdeyemom, who experienced severe postpartum depression after the birth of her first child. It was a terrifying, isolating experience for her, which included terrible insomnia and hallucinations. Thankfully with the help of doctors and family, one week after her son’s first birthday she was able to board a plane to South Africa, resuming her love of travel. Through traveling, writing, and photography she began to see the beauty of the world again.

About this photo: “In 2009 my dad and me went to Los Glaciares National Park in Southern Argentina. Arriving there felt like being at the end of the world. It was as far away from civilization as possible. Yet there is something to be said about the lure of Patagonia and her remoteness. You can lose yourself and totally break free hiking in such a magical place. The beauty takes your breathe away and is like no place on earth. It was my third trip to Patagonia and I hope there will be many more.”
