Photo taken by Thirdeyemom, a survivor of severe postpartum depression. She used travel, writing, and photography, in addition to professional help, to fight her way out of the darkness. See more of her inspiring story here.
About this photo: My family lives in Tuscon, Arizona and over Christmas I had the pleasure of hiking around my most favorite natural escape: Sabino Canyon. I caught this photo on a perfect day and love the brilliant, golden hues of the trees. It is amazing how beautiful the desert can be. Every season is like a new surprise.

Yes, true beauty does exist. That is why I love to hike, run and be outdoors! That is how I calm myself down. I especially enjoy mountains. So much solitude and peace!
What a heavenly picture. It looks like the most serene place in the world. Great eye, catchin it all just so. I have found your photos to be inspirational to say the least.
Thank you.
