Photo taken by contributor Lakesh, a woman in her thirties who serves as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Her first experience with depression came through a relationship. It was filled with ups and downs, and both pockets of joy and memorable disappointments. The relationship has since ended but that experience has changed her perspective on mental illness. She will forever be grateful for the lessons they taught each other.
About this photo: “This photo was taken at ‘The Magician’s Exhibit’, an exhibit dedicated to the Syfy series that delves into a world of magic. Recently, I’ve begun exploring magic. How does it work? What tools do I need? Who can I trust? Where can I study and discover my magical gifts? Wait, do I have magical gifts? The slew of questions lead to more questions with a hint of discovery along the way. I reckon this is not just magic and more importantly what life is about, discovery coupled with knowing until one is content.”
