Photo by contributor Nat, a 70-year-old man who has been interested in photography since he was a kid. He has suffered from chronic depression for many years. Usually the loss of a loved one, rejection, or anything that triggers feelings of low self-esteem will lead to a challenging time for him. Lately, he is rediscovering the joy of the act of photography, and waiting for that moment that tells a special story to the casual observer.
About this photo: “‘Stolen Kiss’ was taken on the Staten Island Ferry in the 1970s.”

Wow that white on black is like an infinite abyss outside the windows! Very visually striking, sir.

Great photo – and I love that it was taken on the ferry, which I used to take to work. Never too late!!

Wonderful candid composition. I like how the doors frame the couple. Reminds me of a photo Vivian Maier would take on the street 🙂
