Who we are & why we are

Welcome to the gallery site of Broken Light Collective. We are artists of all levels and abilities who are affected by mental illness. We create and we share our work for the therapeutic benefits to us, as well as others who may be struggling and feeling scared and alone. Together we can move from disconnected to collective.

Photo taken by a contributor Danielle who has been diagnosed with major depression, bipolar, among other things. Photography is something she studied in school some years ago, and still enjoys very much.

About this photo: “That moment just before a ‘storm.’ Beautiful and ominous.

Love this photo. Also, it would fit right into my second favourite Friday photo challenge Photo Friday which is “sky”. 🙂

So much said, without any words, in this photograph yet you framed it so well with a brief post. Thanks.

Our family has often been crushed by depression and the opposite end of the human mood extremes. We continue to work for balance and for compassion for all others at sea in the storm of rapid mood shifts.

I love the photo and the title, ‘That moment jus before the storm, beautiful and ominous’. They both say so much.
