Please say a warm hello to first-time contributor Magic, a 27-year-old citizen of the planet, currently trying to find his place on earth so he can finally lay down his backpack. His mental health challenges began at the age of 11, when he was bullied. Since then, he has fought his way through anxiety, depression and body dysmorphic disorder. He uses poetry to scream and photography to calm down.
About the photo: “This photograph, which I call ‘Bordergeist,’ was my attempt at facing some of my greatest fears. Due to BDD I prefer to be on the other side of the camera. Without resorting to metaphors, I tried to capture the state of my body and mind during a panic attack.”

I totally get where you are at. Although I am now much older I have had BDD since about your age as well as depression and general anxiety disorder. I also have a son that was bullied about the same age as you were who also got hit by a car as a pedestrian and developed PTSD. Art is a wonderful way to help deal with the mess of feelings we have. Great photo.
