Faces In The Walls

Photos taken by first-time contributor Jenny Gonzalez-Blitz, a New York City based artist who works in many disciplines. She lives with her husband, cats, and rats. For most of her life she has dealt with depression and PTSD, and was diagnosed with schizo-affective disorder in the early 2000’s. Primarily she works with paint or pen & ink, or with her husband in a sound-art collaboration called “Doll Hospital,” but recently she began working with photography and making digital photo-manipulations and collages.

About these photos: “Faces In The Walls” came from me noticing distress in the walls where I go for mental health treatment that looked like faces. I imagine them as the collective spirits of all who have gone through there to find help, telling their stories.”
