Photo taken by first-time contributor John Flood, a 34-year-old man who was hospitalized at 21 for extreme depression and paranoia, and has never really recovered. He was in darkness for about 8 years, lonely, depressed and filled with sorrow. It felt to him like torture and punishment, but he made it out of the black about 5 years ago. It is still dark everyday for him, but he tries to find the light, if he can. He’s gotten better, but still wants to improve even more.
About this photo: “I took this recently, and the picture captured more then I even expected. It was a long exposure shot and the moment, the pause, for 10 seconds is still in my head now, yet it is now the past…Anyways there’s a poem on it too, that is my new thing which I am hoping to be able to do something one day with..Alright, so me!!”
