Beauty Never Fades

Photo taken by contributor Janna, who has suffered from panic attacks for the last year that have left her shaken and insecure. However, through her anxiety she has met some really nice people who have similar conditions and this has really helped her in realizing that she is not alone. It allowed her to understand her situation and mental illness more. She is currently in her final year of a Fine Art degree in Ireland and is using being creative to help release some of the pressures in her life.

About this photo: “In my work I search for the beauty behind the obvious. The verity behind the mask of perfection. Beauty, although adored, isn’t perfect.

In this photograph I wanted to achieve something that appears beautiful to the outside eye but on closer inspection isn’t perfect.”

  2. This photograph tears at me. I feel the inevitability of it, not just the fading beauty but fading life. There is the sadness of the journey coming to an end and yet still there is still power. Perhaps it just because I’m creeping up to the same stage in my own existence.
