Neglect and Dilapidation

Photo taken by a woman who has been diagnosed with major depression. Photography has been a helpful tool through the darkness of depression.

About this photo: “Every broken window is unique, like a gem stone or snowflake. Each one may be neglected and part of some greater dilapidation, but I find them to be incredibly beautiful. Perhaps I am drawn to them because I myself feel in a state of disrepair. If only depression were as easy to fix as a window.”

  1. It’s a beautiful imagery. Depression cannot be fixed, it can be tamed, talking through experience. I can now see beyond the dilapidated window, so you will too. Take cre.

  2. Great photo. “To believe that we can and must hide the parts of us that are broken, out of fear that others are incapable of loving the parts of us that we cannot love ourselves, is to believe that sunshine is incapable of entering a broken window and warming an empty room”. ~ Sandra Kring
