Moving On

Photo taken by Natalia from Boston, Massachusetts. She is 17 years old, and recovering from anorexia nervosa.

About this photo: These walls only remind me of the feelings of negativity, anxiousness, loneliness, and despair. The blue tiles lined with a hopeless effort to fit in. The floor always reflecting a self conscious, fearful, younger me, who thought she had everything under control. Luckily, I am in a good enough place today, where I can be here, in these mixed up hallways and not be pulled back to the thoughts and behaviors that ruled my every move in this school.

  1. Nice shot! And good for you… I’m glad you can be there. That isn’t luck, it reflects a LOT of hard work. 🙂 I don’t like to go back to my old university for that very reason. I can’t imagine being back in the dorm rooms I lived in the last two years *shudder*… You’re strong + courageous!

  2. Interesting narrative. The image communicates to me a different story through my perception “screen of thought”. As a spectator I see (in this image) a visual statement “Willingness to change”. This is the mark of a great image! – this is only my opinion 🙂
