Please welcome first-time contributor DeBorah, a 58-year-old woman living in Brooklyn, New York, who has been diagnosed with depression, anxiety and panic attacks. In March, 2015, she spent two weeks inpatient at Kings County Hospital being treated for her depression, which had caused her to descend into a sea of sadness and despair. Photography has been her saving grace going from a coping mechanism of survival to a passion, enabling her to thrive and express her creative passions. DeBorah’s photography genre is Street/Urban photography and her photos can be found on her photography blog, Roaming Urban Gypsy.
About these photos: “This series is called ‘Derailed’ and is a collection of New York City’s massive subway system which is NYC’s arteries carrying millions of passengers daily to and from work, school, religious services and medical appointments. Trains barreling towards you. Are you on the train or in the train. The train becomes its destination.”
