Photo by contributor Patrycja Marciniak, a 24-year-old graphic designer, artist, and photographer from Poland who has struggled with depression, anxiety, and dermatillomania, the urge to scratch and pick at one’s skin.
About this photo: “In these long-exposure self-portraits I tried to capture the feeling of depersonalization related to depression and anxiety – the moments when your body and your mind seem strangely foreign. At these moments I don’t feel like myself, but rather like a mannequin controlled by the illness.”
