Entering The Psych Hospital

Photo taken by contributor Danielle, a woman in her thirties whose diagnoses include Bipolar Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder. Danielle is a freelance writer, photographer, photo editor, and the director of Broken Light Collective.

About this photo: “This is a shot from my last photowalk just before entering a psychiatric hospital last month. Looking ahead, the path was fuzzy, but I was determined to keep moving forward, one depressed step, and one click, at a time.

Danielle, this is a powerful, courageous, honest, and thought-provoking piece of work and words. I love the p.o.v and beautiful glimpse of nature. It makes me wonder what you’re feeling, thinking and experiencing in those intense moments before entering the hospital for treatment.
