Hat Creek Ridge

Please welcome first-time contributor Greg Noble, a 68-year-old Navy veteran with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Greg is a medically retired truck driver who drove 3.5 million miles during his career. After injuring himself on the job and not being able to work any longer, the demons that he had eluded since leaving the Navy and serving three tours in Vietnam, caught up with him. Now that he could no longer work himself to exhaustion, nighttime became a constant nightmare. It wasn’t until six years ago that he was diagnosed with PTSD with a VA rating of 70%. His PTSD manifested as constant depression, anxiety, and reclusion.

About this photo: “Through photography I have found a way to feel alive not to just exist. This photo was taken on the Hat Creek Ridge, Northern California.

You’ve captured a truly beautiful and vibrant landscape. And I love the sky. I’ve never seen photography so full of life. I’m happy to know that you’ve found an avocation that has given you new life and meaning after thr suffering you’e gone through with PTSD. Thank you for your service to our Country.
