Free and Complete

Please welcome first-time contributor Natasha, a writer in England with a permanent case of wanderlust who has been living with Bipolar Disorder since its early onset at the age of 14. Natasha is now 30 and weighing up what do with a life regulated mostly by what she describes as med times, magical times, and mad times. Despite everything, she is an optimist who tries to perceive through the eyes of love.

About this photo: “This photograph was taken one long, hazy summer when it seemed the drowsy buzz of the bees and the scent of lavender would never die. I remember sitting in the garden with my mother drinking coffee and feeling the breeze against my skin and watching the poplars shiver. Everything was covered in flowers. I was at home, doing something mundane and routine in the sun, but for a couple of seconds I felt absolutely free and complete.”

  1. Natasha, the way you describe that long hazy summer is poetic splendor. What a stunning and striking photo. The shadows make each petal pop. I love those mind-stop moments that invite us to be fully present, “free and complete”. I look forward to seeing more of your writing and photography :).
