Photo taken by first-time contributor Chad Wise, a 42-year-old man from Ohio. Chad is living with bipolar depression.
About this photo: “One area that many people forget about is the struggle with faith that can often accompany depressive conditions. This photo is a metaphor for those of us trying to climb the ladder to reach our previous level of faith (when we are well). Nobody feels more guilty about not feeling connected to our faith then the person struggling at that time. During these times of struggle, lean on others to pray for you. If you have the flu, you might not go to your church or place of worship until you feel better. The same is true for those whose illnesses might not be seen, but are equally debilitating. Better health and better days are just around the corner.“

Oh my gosh, I live this daily. It’s better now than before, but I have lived this for year. This is truly incredible. Thanks for sharing and encouraging the rest of us.

Your image reminds me of a dream. I find in dreams that things are there, but can be out of reach or order. It is a compelling image. Thank you for being an honest, real Christian. There is a lie out there that Christians don’t suffer, but Jesus tells us otherwise, and that He will be there through it all.

It’s as if you can read my mind. This is a short fused issue in my life. When I fell from grace there was no one there to catch me. This is a daily struggle.
