Photo taken by contributor Kevin W. Gardner, a 53-year-old man from Oklahoma who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the late eighties. Kevin is supported by a wonderful mental health team, including a counselor, case manager, and wellness coach. He uses photography as a coping skill whenever things gets stressful.
About this photo: “This Christmas ornament represents me being alone on Christmas day. I have been alone on Christmas day for several years and it does not get easier when everyone is with family and friends and having a great holiday dinner while I am at home with no Christmas dinner at all.”
