Photo taken by contributor Nat, a 70-year-old man who has been interested in photography since he was a kid. He has suffered from chronic depression for many years. Usually the loss of a loved one, rejection, or anything that triggers feelings of low self-esteem will lead to a challenging time for him. Lately, he is rediscovering the joy of the act of photography, and waiting for that moment that tells a special story to the casual observer.
About this photo: “This sepia photo was taken on East Houston Street in NYC in 1965. I guess it could be titled, “There But for Fortune.”
