Photo taken by contributor Danielle in Long Beach Island. She is a writer in her thirties who falls on the bipolar spectrum, and to a lesser extent OCD, BPD, ADD and PTSD. She has suffered more than anything with severe, at times suicidal, depression. She finds joy in art, both viewing and creating it, most of all photography, and dreams about traveling the world.
About this photo: “I watched this sunset from the time it appeared high in the sky until it disappeared beyond the horizon. I was having an extremely difficult week, but allowing myself to quietly observe this beautiful scene — the sun, the changing colors of the sky, the silhouettes of the boats bobbing on the flowing bay — was just what I needed to remind myself that everything is impermanent. The good and the bad. Difficulties will recede and the new day will bring new beginnings and an opportunity to start again.”
