Photo taken by contributor Annie, a woman who has battled depression, major anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder and dissociative disorder.
About this photo: “When I saw this tree, it spoke to me in many ways. As I look at it this afternoon, I see spiderwebs, with tiny branches overlaying one another and the trunk reaching up with its large branches into the sky desperately trying to connect…to reach and touch.”

I really like your perspective on this photo and the tree reaching out to find the light! Very powerful use of expression using nature to blend in with our unfortunate nature of depression at times!

I like the lighter tone of the leaves behind the tree trunk. Contrast is great. Thanks for sharing.

The light from above makes my heart and mind open into the endless possibilities and I feel the huge power of “the other” that sustains us all. Whenever I look up and meditate on my connection to the world, my heart lifts and my lips curl up on the sides.
Thank you for the smile!
