This photo was taken by P, a West Coast woman who loves how the mountains make her feel. She watched as her mom struggled with depression during a long illness that she eventually succumbed to. P herself struggles on and off with mild depression and anxiety that is controlled but plays a definite part in her life. In spite of that she loves the outdoors, travel and a good book. These are the things that give her the greatest joy and peace, along with family and friends.
About this photo: “This particular picture was taken on Mount Rainier in Washington State. A team member negotiates a tricky and shrinking snow bridge to arrive at Base Camp Schurman, the base for the summit climb the next day.”

Climbing out of depression is akin to climbing Mt. Everest, there is so much danger involved. Beautiful picture to describe depression
