Photo taken by Thirdeyemom, who experienced severe postpartum depression after the birth of her first child. It was a terrifying, isolating experience for her, which included terrible insomnia and hallucinations. Thankfully with the help of doctors and family, one week after her son’s first birthday she was able to board a plane to South Africa, resuming her love of travel. Through traveling, writing, and photography she began to see the beauty of the world again.
About this photo: “Standing here and looking over the massive Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina left me awestruck at the greatness of Mother Earth and the power of nature. The glacier was unearthly beautiful. As I stood there watching this living piece of ice change its form as large chunks of ice calved and thundered off to the water below, it struck me how old this glacier is and how relatively small our existence on this earth is. I remain resolved to make a difference and a footprint on this earth by giving back through my voice, my actions and my heart.”
