Photos by Lauren Turton, from Dayton, Ohio who has recently moved to San Diego, California. Lauren experienced deep anxiety after returning to school at 25 to pursue her passion for photography and art. Having her life turned upside down proved to be too much. With the help of medication, being open with people, and breathing techniques she has learned to manage.
About these photos: As a photographer self-portraits are very challenging and interesting to me, that’s why I focus on them. It can be very odd to look at one’s self without criticizing or over analyzing what one looks like in the photo. I’ve found in the past months to really come into myself and truly love and accept myself for who I am- a friendly, interesting, imaginative lady who is captivated by other worlds and all things vintage. I enjoy combining these qualities of myself and displaying them in the mystical, eerie world of photography.
