Spiraling

Photo taken by contributor Danielle, a woman in her thirties whose diagnoses include Bipolar Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder. Danielle is a freelance writer, photographer, photo editor, and the founder of Broken Light Collective.

About this photo: “Sometimes I feel like a storm cloud that at any moment will explode with thunder, lightning, and torrential rain. The kind of rain that causes flooding and tidal waves, and ruins lives. I think it can’t get much worse, and then I start spiraling out of control into a tornado or hurricane, leaving nothing but disaster in my wake.

  1. I’m sorry you’re going through a rough time. I am as well. When I’m mistreated by someone or am in sensory overload, I ruin a lot of things, like a bad Tasmanian devil.
