Shadow of the Universe

Please welcome first-time contributor Ian Mcintyre, a 33-year-old man who was born in Aurora, Colorado, but grew up in Canada. He graduated high school and was diagnosed with Schizophrenia at the age of 21. Ian likes to write poetry, listen to music, and read. He now lives in Prince Albert, in Saskatchewan, Canada, where he spends his days going to a drop-in centre for people living with mental illness. He attends the photography and writing programs there.

About this photo: “I have chosen this photo because it makes me a believer, a believer in something that goes beyond the grave. To choose love over hate and whatever more is stolen from the heart. It’s as vast as the ocean or in this case, the universe. Sometimes your shadow appears to be bigger than you really are. Or is this just the feeling of being bigger? I’m bigger than an ant or a grasshopper, but the universe is bigger than me. God is even bigger. If that’s too hard to comprehend… I don’t blame you.”
