Lost Inside My Mind

Please welcome first-time contributor Rhian Lloyd, a woman who faces mental health challenges every day, including anorexia and depression. In addition to regularly breaking down over her weight and/or feeling low and alone, she also deals with paranoia and panic attacks. Life is definitely a struggle for Rhian, but her passion for photography gets her through most challenges and she is able to project her feelings through the camera lens.

About these photos: “This photo series is a very important piece that I have created to not only submit in University but to show how I feel in everyday situations. I believe the use of self portraits helps show how personal it is to me and film photography helps show the dark and gloomy aesthetic. The concept is how mental illness would look if it was physical. I’m hoping I can inspire not only myself to get better but others too.”
