Come Out Fighting

Photos taken by contributor Yael, a woman who has suffered from anxiety and depression since junior high school. After a year of not going out much because of her anxiety, she finally got the courage to talk to a neighbor who ended up introducing her to photography. The two women were able to connect through their shared interest in taking photos, and find inspiration together in their small town. Yael has been photographing ever since, and finds it to be quite therapeutic.

About these photos: “I live an impatient lifestyle which is why I just came out of an eating disorder hospital. I met many fabulous people. Sad … very sad. But I post this pic to show… come out fighting or you will never come out.”

    1. Thank you very much, Frank! I will never give up. My mom never did and lost my dad and her sister to suicide. She motivates me everyday but is not happy. That is why I get help and express myself. As EVERYONE should and can.

      1. Good for you Yael! I saw a Space Shuttle astronaut give a talk. He said 12 years in a row he applied to N.A.S.A and was rejected each year. Most people would have given up. He tried to impove himself every year. In year 13 he was accepted. He said everyone fails, but you must keep going and continue to learn and enjoy!

  1. Yes! I agree. Giving up is an action that is very easy yet dangerous. Learning is all we can do. It is very enjoyable indeed because it is the part of life we have the opportunity to go further and love ourselves.
