Please welcome first-time contributor Amanda Sapp, a 36-year-old single mom residing in Alma, GA. Amanda has suffered with severe depression for many years and was recently diagnosed with Bipolar II Disorder. She is struggling to accept the life changing diagnosis and to adjust to new meds and a new normal.

It reminds me that no matter how much my illness makes me isolate that I am not alone. It reminds me that with the right support, I am strong enough to keep fighting.”

I. too, recently discovered that I’m Bipolar II, and this was after many yrs. of being diagnosed as, and thinking that I was only depressed . . the new diagnosis has been quite a revelation . . hang in there as I’m doing here . . I know it’s not easy . . Sam

Thanks Sam. It was a devastating diagnosis for sure but I know that I have to find a way to accept it, live with, and stay healthy. Thank you for the kind words.

I love butterflies. They are fragile, but determined creatures. Having faith in God, the One who heals, will help you. He has radically changed my life for the better. 2 Corinthians 5:17 is a verse I like to call “The butterfly verse”. It says that if a man is in Christ (has accepted Him), he is a new creation. Slowly, He will help you learn to live life effectively with Bipolar as He has done with me and autism..and my mom’s recent death.
