Please welcome first-time contributor Darcie, a 32-year-old woman from Edmonton, Alberta who suffers from Bipolar Disorder, OCD and Borderline Personality Disorder. She was diagnosed in the last two years after suffering for over a decade. Darcie is an acrylic and mixed media artist who just recently started experimenting with photography. She is struggling to take her art and photography to the next level while also taking care of her mental health and wellbeing.
About these photos: “This is a series of self portraits that I took during a time when I was very upset. I’m glad I thought to grab my iPhone and capture my raw emotion in that present moment. I am always smiling in pictures, but I am not always smiling inside. These photos give a more accurate picture of how I feel a lot of the time.“
