Stuck and Frustrated

Photos taken by contributor Danielle, a woman who has been diagnosed as being on the bipolar, ADD and OCD spectrums.

About these photos: “Living with mental illness often feels like I’m on a ferris wheel that never stops. Like I’m constantly going up and down, never on solid ground. I can see that there is beauty around me (the sunset in the photos), but I can never quite get there. I’m stuck and frustrated, and just want to get off this never ending ride.

  1. Lovely photographs, Ferris wheels make great subjects. It’s a lovely (if that’s anywhere near the right word) analogy too, makes a change from the usual ‘roller coaster’. I can definitely relate to it.

  2. interesting analogy. I often feel like my life with depression and anxiety compares to a roller coaster ride – all the real highs and drops. when I think of ferris wheel that brings me to anxiety – I HATE getting stuck at the top. I remember taking my eldest son on one when he was young and we were stuck at the top and he looked over at me and says…Mommy are you praying? I sure was. I hated being stuck up there!
