Pieces of Blue

Photo taken by first-time contributor Tilda, a 40-something female from Australia. Due to childhood abuse and trauma, she has a history of cPTSD, depression, and dissociation. She uses creative pursuits to distract her and express herself, including photography and blogging.

About this photo: “I took this photo of a succulent from my garden, about a year ago, and some people may recognize it as the gravatar image I used for a while. I see the image as a reflection of myself ~ many segments of a whole, pieces joined but separate and spiraling. There are points at the end of each petal, which look sharp, but are actually soft to touch. I see beauty in its uniqueness and complexity.

    1. Thankyou. I played with the colour values a little, as I prefer purples and blues, the actual plant is a blue/green. Thanks

  2. This is a beautiful photo. I love that although the centre is dark, there is light on every petal tip – a reminder that we can find find our way to the light. Thank you.

      1. You’re welcome. I’ve been thinking about your photo a lot today; it’s changed how I will approach the background of a collage I’m doing – for the better!
