Photo taken by a mom with severe depression, anxiety, and occasional panic attacks. She lives with her husband and daughter outside of New York City.
About this photo: My daughter may just be a toddler, but I learn a lot from her all the time. Her focus. Her determination. Her fearlessness. She’s not afraid to slide the big slide, or skin her knee from running too fast. She just goes, and she’s happy… nearly all the time. Sometimes it is hard to believe she is mine, she is so happy.
She may think she is drawing a flower when she is really making a scribbly purple line, but it doesn’t matter. She does what she wants to do and it’s all perfect to me. I strive to be more and more like her as I “grow up.” A happy, fearless, smiley, beautiful, force to be reckoned with.

Lovely – it makes me think of the children’s book “Harold and the Purple Crayon” – there are no limits to what she can draw!
