Photo taken by a woman with severe clinical depression.
About this photo: I love capturing movement in photography. I took this of a friend of mine in my basement studio. I was feeling depressed and wanted to do something fun and playful, but was not up to leaving the house. She was a perfect subject, having experience with gymnastics and dance, she seemed to fly through the air. After the shoot I actually felt a little better. Free-er, like the woman in the photo. I think photography can be a helpful tool when it comes to depression.

A strong image exhibiting both movement and energy. Well done! I’m glad it made you feel better. I myself get lost in joy and contentment when I am taking pictures.

Love this photo. May be a silly question but how did you get the white background? Photoshop?

Thanks. It was shot on a white paper background in a basement studio.

Ah I see. Good to know that great photography isn’t dependant on Photoshop!

Extremely well captured! Was this totally done with high key light? What was your strobe setup?
