Photography has helped her find a universal way to communicate with others when she finds it hard to express herself vocally to people. It has also given her the courage to seize opportunities that she normally wouldn’t want to. She feels most comfortable behind a camera and it helps relieve the debilitating fear accompanied with being in social situations. Photography has helped her be pro-active about anxiety and has been a great self-esteem booster as well.

To just push it when we just need something or someone to help us get through whatever circumstances we’re in.”

This reminds me of the Staples “Easy Button”… Remember the commercials? “Now that was easy!”
I bought one in High School and enjoyed pushing it when I’d accomplished something. But the problem with the Easy Button is that it invalidates the struggle. Mental Health issues are NOT easy. “Help!” is much more appropriate.
Nice find! Noticing things we see every day, and looking at them through different eyes, is something I appreciate and try to practice as well.

I thought the very same – the Staples button! I think I would frame this and hang it on the wall in my house. A reminder that help is real, just like anxiety and depression are real, yet there is hope!
